I came to CCIC the first time
sometime in 1987. I was invited by a student friend of mine during one of the
seminars by Christy Moore when the church was at Yewande Memorial School in
Surulere.
“My first encounter was with the greeters. The way they welcomed and hugged me at the gate I never forgot it. It was the first time I was welcomed like that in a church. The worship and the word were so electrifying that day that I wished we were never going to close and go home. From that evening I never missed service and my New Believers Classes until I had to leave Lagos after my National Youth Service to Calabar and then to Port Harcourt where I now reside. “After searching for a church like where I was coming from, and couldn't find, I had to join a few brethren like Chris Ahamefula to start up a fellowship which eventually became the Port Harcourt branch…I served until 1996 when the Lord called me to begin the work I now pastor. “I owe all that I am today in ministry and in the Lord to all that the servant of God, Dr. Tunde Joda and CCIC taught me. The electrifying worship and transforming teaching of God's word have been my guide even in my ministry today.” - Rev Johnson Segun Ariyibi, Senior Pastor, Sonlife Christian Centre, Port Harcourt.
