IT WILL SOON CHANGE...CCIC’s Message to the Nation

Christ Chapel International Churches has assured Nigerians that things will return to the peaceful state it was when you could go about your activities at any time of the day or night without fear - if we pray.

Speaking in an interview at the media launch of the church’s 32nd Anniversary and Annual Campmeeting Rev Dan Ibekwe, chairman of the Church’s Advisory Council was responding to a question on the recent kidnap of  Archbishop Ignatius Kattey, Dean of the Anglican Communion in Nigeria.

Ibekwe, who represented the church’s Senior/Founding Pastor, Rev Dr Tunde Joda, at the launch, said it was lamentable that kidnappers no longer respected men of God.

Condemning the kidnap of the now released Anglican Archbishop, he urged government at all levels not to relent in their efforts to provide empowerment for the unemployed youths.

Ibekwe said: “The kidnapping of clerics including an Archbishop is a sign of bad leadership. I came to Lagos in 1954 and then we are free to go anywhere anytime. In fact, people prefer to go to some places at night because everywhere was calm but that is all over now. There is fear all over the places and that is why we must be careful of our movement as men of God at night.”
He advised that “with the situation of the country, pastors, bishops, archbishops and other religious leaders should reduce their movement at night and continue to pray that everything goes back to normal. With our prayers, we will enjoy what we used to enjoy and there is need for moral re-awakening from God.”

In the Senior Pastor’s address, read earlier, he enjoined Nigerians to rise and shine because God’s design is for His glory to shine in and through the nation and her people.  Nigerians should therefore avoid fear and embrace faith so that God’s plan can come into manifestation.

Among plans to commemorate the 32nd anniversary are visits to some orphanages, renovation of a police station and a feed the needy programme. The church also has plans to help the youths by investing in the educational sector.
